안녕하세요.

아래 내용은 제가 에이전시를 통해서 공유받은 J1인턴 준비를 위한 질문/답변 영어 스크립트입니다.

이 내용대로 준비한다고 꼭 좋다/나쁘다 말씀을 드릴 수는 없기 때문에, 그냥 참고하는 정도로만 가볍게 구경만 하시면 좋을 것 같습니다.

 

아래와 같이 질문과 답변을 대충 작성해서 주면서, 지원자에 맞게끔 스크립트를 수정해서 알아서 공부하라고 하였습니다.

Q: Why do you want to go to the U.S for internship training?

Q: Tell me about the reasons you applying for this opportunity.

- I studied Interior Design at the xxxx University and I graduated in February 20xx. I wish to learn advanced American business through the internship in the U.S. Also I wish to learn cultural difference between two countries. 


Q: When were you born? Where were you born?

- I was born on April xx, 1 xxx

And I was born in Busan.


Q: What kind of cultural activities are you planning to do?

- Well… I will have a BBQ party, Halloween party, Thanksgiving-day party with my co-workers. And I will go to Santa Monica Pier, Huntington Beach, Universal Studio, and several libraries and museums. 

 

Q: Do you have any financial support?

- Yes, my father will be supporting me. 

 

Q: What kind of job are you going to get after this internship/training?

- I want to be a famous interior designer in Korea. So, I will get a job as interior designer. 

 

Q: How much do you make from the program?

- I will get paid 12 dollars per hour. 

 

Q. I think your salary will not be enough for your living in USA. What do think about that?

- I think my salary will be enough for my basic living expenses in USA. And my father will support me financially. 

 

Q: How many hours in a week do you have a training/internship?

- I will be trained 40 hours per week. 

 

Q: How did you find out about the company?

- I got to know the host company though a private agency. 

 

Q: Where is your DS sponsor organization? And how much did you pay for the 'J1 Exchange Visitor Program'?

- My sponsor is xxxxxx. And I paid about U$5,300 for J1 process. 

 

Q: What will you do in your training in the U.S.?

- At first level, I will get the orientation of the company. And then, I will learn about interior design. 

 

Q: How long are you going to stay in the U.S?

- I will stay only one year. After my internship, I will come back to Korea … and I plan to apply for an interior designer with my J1 experience.

 

Q: What is your plan after finishing the internship?

Q: If you plan to go back to Korea after completing the internship, why are you applying for
it now?

- That is because the Interior and Architect markets between two countries are quite different in the aspect of scale and technology. And many people know that US have a big and famous Interior and Architect market. So, I think… this internship program will be helpful to get a job as a interior designer in Korea. That is the reason why I applying for US internship training. 

 

Q: Are you going to attend any college / university?

- No, I will not. Since my main purpose is training, I will focus on learning and training. 

 

Q: Tell me about your internship host company
Q: Which company will you work for?

- My host company is “xxxxxxxxxx” which is located in Los Angeles, California. And the company is an interior and architect design firm.

 

Why did you choose Easy Flex as your internship company?

Mane Concept is one of major hair product companies in NJ, U.S.

J1 internship in Mane Concept will be a golden asset for me when I get a job here in my home country.

 

Q: Could you tell me full address?

- My host company address is xxxx xxxx xxxxxxxCA, USA 

 

Q: Are you going to the U.S. alone?

- Yes. I am going to the U.S. alone.

 

Q: Where will you stay in the U.S.?

-  I will find a house near my host company.

 

Q: Do you have any plans to travel in the U.S. after internship program?
Q: Do you intend to study English in the U.S.?

- No, I don’t. 

 

Q: If you arrive in the United States, what do you have to do first?

- As soon as I arrive in USA, I will report to my agency and sponsor organization for my arrival check-in. And I will prepare to visit my host company. 

 

Q: If you want to go to another country for travel, do you know what to do?

- If I want to travel temporarily outside USA, I should get the permission from my sponsor organization. I know that I should send a written request form or call sponsor organization before I leave USA. 

 

Q: If you have any problem in the United States, what are you going to do?

- I will get some advice from my internship agency or I will ask the sponsor organization how I can handle that situation. I will not behave irresponsibly. 

 

Q. I think your internship company is a Korean company.
How can you experience American business and culture in such company?

- Yes, it is a Korean American company.  But … most of staffs are second generation who can speak both in English and Korean.  Since they are educated and working in English environment, I expect to learn their way of work and different culture.

 

Q : As you said, you studied Visual Design. But... I think your majors are not related to the stainless steel tubing products company. What do you think about that?

- Mane Concept company has a design department. Design department is involved in design related works such as web design and graphic design and so on. So, I will learn about design related tasks at design department. Also, my dream is to become a famous designer. So, I think... this internship program will be helpful to get a job as a designer in Korea.
